Prime Meridian Bank and Gilchrist Elementary
Raise Treasure for Tree House Again in 2011

Prime Meridian Bank and Gilchrist Elementary have partnered to raise money in support of Tree House of Tallahassee, Inc.

Prime Meridian Bank will distribute tiny treasure bags to Gilchrist students along with a note to take home, encouraging the children to fill the small bags with change and return them to school during a designated week-long period. The class that collects the most treasure for Tree House will receive a gift card for classroom supplies.

A pizza party will be held for the winning class for each grade level. Prime Meridian Bank will collect the sacks on and deliver 100% of the money raised to Tree House of Tallahassee during their annual event.

Prime Meridian sponsored the annual Tree House fundraiser in 2009  and again in 2010 (raising  a whopping $2,383.92)!

“Once we saw the work Tree House was doing, we knew we wanted to do more to support this vital organization,” said Prime Meridian CEO Sammie Dixon.  “The idea to partner with an elementary school grew from our desire to inspire Tallahassee’s youth to be aware and respond to the needs of other children in our community.  We chose Gilchrist because they are our neighborhood school.  We hope that the initiative will be so successful that other schools will want to join in the effort.  Together we can really make a positive difference in the lives of these children.”

Tree House of Tallahassee is an emergency youth shelter focused on providing a safe, homelike environment and counseling for children between 2 and 12 years of age. Donations for Tree House can be taken to Prime Meridian Bank.
