Sammie D. Dixon, Jr. was part of the management team and Board that formed both the Bank and Prime Meridian. He is the Vice Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and President of Prime Meridian and the Bank. Prior to joining the Bank, from June 2005 to December 2006, he was the Senior Vice President and Commercial Sales Manager for Regions Bank in Tallahassee, Florida. Before that, he served as Chief Executive Officer and President for Bank of Thomas County from August 2003 to June 2005. From April 1999 to 2003, Mr. Dixon held various positions with Bank of Florida – Southwest in Naples, Florida. He began his banking career with NationsBank in 1997. Mr. Dixon previously served as an Administrative Committee Member of the American Bankers Association’s Community Bankers Council. He is a former director and Chair of the Greater Tallahassee Chamber of Commerce and Campaign Co-Chair of the United Way of the Big Bend where he also served as a director. He is a member of the Independent Community Bankers of America’s Legislative Issues Committee, the Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare Foundation Board of Trustees and the Florida TaxWatch Board of Trustees. He serves on the Board of the Boys and Girls Clubs of the Big Bend. Mr. Dixon attends Saint Peter’s Anglican Church.
